Youth Ministry
The Church used to hold an average of two meetings a month for the youth in the past years. In order to accommodate and train the growing number of young people in our ministry, the leadership carefully planned and redesigned the youth ministry in 2010. The Youth Ministry is now known as “Youth Development Centre”. The centre embraces all young people between the ages of 10 years to 19 years in Stoke-on-Trent and surrounding areas. The Youth Centre aims at running projects from time to time in order to improve the quality of life for young people. The first project took place in 2009 and 2010 which was partly funded by ‘Youth Opportunity Fund’. Participation was over 40 young people between the ages of 13 and 19 years for personal development training programmes. The project was a major aspect of the Church’s work in the Community which attracted young people across the City to engage them in activities which changed their orientation and behaviour in the community. The aim of the project is to engage them in order to reduce idleness and antisocial behaviour, and talent development. Seminars and activities include confidence building and self esteem, drama, dance and music. There are also outings for group challenge and sports. Outcomes are impressive as youths gained confidence and take part in a number of talent shows and performances organised in the City.
