Youth Development Project

The Youth Centre aims at running projects from time to time in order to improve the quality of life for young people. The first project took place in 2009 and 2010 which was partly funded by ‘Youth Opportunity Fund’. Participation was over 40 young people between the ages of 13 and 19 years for personal development training programmes. The project was a major aspect of the Church’s work in the Community which attracted young people across the City to engage them in activities which changed their orientation and behaviour in the community. The aim of the project was to engage them in order to reduce idleness and antisocial behaviour, and talent development. Seminars and activities include confidence building and self esteem, drama, dance and music. There were also outings for group challenge and sports. Outcomes were impressive as youths took gained confidence and took part in a number of talent shows and performances organised in the City. Below are pictorial views of some activities.

2. Summer Fair 2010

In 2010 the Church held a summer fair at the Burslem Park to entertain and interact with the community. The general public were treated to live Music, Barbeque, a good number of inflatables, and speeches on community building and cohesion. This fair was very successful as it drew a good number of people around Burslem and surrounding suburbs attending and having fun together which we believe fostered community spirit.

3. Residential Conferences

Annual conferences termed ‘Summer Camp meeting’ have been held since July 2008. It is organised to bring people together for a special encounter with God for renewed strength, expository Bible teaching for equipping and training in ministry, and for community outreach. The Summer Camp meeting is open to all members of our Church, other Churches, and the general public. The conference also serves as a place where Christians closely relate to each other. It has attracted attendees from other Cities like Manchester, Coventry, Northampton, and even London.
